INGREDIENTS:


4 bananas, sliced


3/4 cup brown sugar



1/2 cup unsalted butter


1 cup all-purpose flour



1/2 teaspoon baking powder


1/4 teaspoon baking soda



1/8 teaspoon salt


1/2 cup granulate


DIRECTIONS:


Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).


In a 9-inch cake pan, melt 1/4 cup butter and add brown sugar, stirring until combined. Arrange banana slices on top of the sugar mixture.



In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.


In another bowl, cream together 1/4 cup butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then stir in vanilla.

Gradually add flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with buttermilk, starting and ending with flour mixture. Pour batter over bananas in the pan.

Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool for 10 minutes, then invert onto a serving plate.
